Tuva's Comet
A darkness fell upon the night.
The moon had gone away.
The core had chilled, the tides had stilled; devoid of ebb and sway.
The scholars peered into the void,
left where the moon was bound.
Their planet ached, their lives at stake, if answers were not found.
The void peered back, with many eyes,
as many as the stars.
They flickered dim, the future grim, but wait…
A comet emerged from the void.
A comet on a collision course with the planet!
It flew so close it lit up the night sky.
It flew so close, its trailing, icy locks all but grazed the planet's face.
So close that it pulled the tides, unearthing treasures long forgotten.
So close that the planet’s shell split open, revealing its still beating heart.
The planet and the comet went into a spiral.
Dancing to the tune of their merriment.
A tune that echoed across spacetime.
Round and round, they inched closer.
Round and round, they spun faster.
Until…
A darkness fell upon the night.
The comet could not stay.
Back to its land, a foreign land, and oh so far away.
Perhaps their paths would meet again.
Two orbits intertwined.
Only the Fates shall know this fate, hidden from mortal mind.
The scholars sat in shock and awe.
The comet grew in fame.
Her beauty known throughout the land, let Tuva be her name.
